Dear visitors of Kamnik and Kamfest Summer Festival
Welcome to Kamnik, a town in the bosom of the Kamnik mountains. Some may also call it a town on the way to the tops and for others it will always be the town with the final railway station. The credit for the mere existence of the railway goes to the Kamnik industry, which blossomed at the end of the 19th century and enabled rapid development of the town that lasted until the time Slovenia gained its independence.
VENUES
This year’s Kamfest will feature a regular program taking place at various venues, each no more than a 15-minute walk away from the others at a moderate pace.
The Town Stage (Mestni oder) in the parking lot next to Kavarna Veronika will host both well-known and lesser-known names from the music scene.
The Creative Quarter Barutana (Kreativna četrt Barutana) is a space where young and old will come together:
— the Barutana meadow will provide a home for the Children’s Stage (Otroški oder);
— afternoon workshops will take place in the circle (krog);
— and as dusk falls, only specialties will be served under the overhang (nadstrešek).
Please note that the Children’s Stage (Otroški oder) will move to the Samčev predor on the first day of the festival and to the Arboretum Volčji Potok on the last day.
The Kamfest Cinema (Kino Kamfest) at the Mekinje Monastery (Samostan Mekinje) offers a diverse and rich film program within its mighty ancient walls.
